AUCTION RULES & INFORMATION

Please review all rules and information before participating in the Pig Tails Farm Online Board Sale.

How Bidding Works

Your Bid Amount

When you place a bid, you enter the amount you want to bid right now. If your bid is higher than the current bid by at least the minimum bid increment, you become the current high bidder.

Maximum Auto-Bid Amount

You can also set a Maximum Auto-Bid amount. This is the highest amount you are willing to pay. The system will automatically bid on your behalf in minimum increments to keep you as the high bidder — up to your maximum. You do not pay your maximum unless someone else bids up to that level.

Example: Current bid is $500. You set a max auto-bid of $800. Someone bids $600 — the system automatically bids $625 for you, keeping you in the lead without you having to do anything.

Tie-Breaker Rule

If two bidders set the same Maximum Auto-Bid amount, the first bidder wins. The bidder who set that maximum amount first will be declared the high bidder. This rewards early participation.

Bids in the Final Minutes

If a bid is placed within the final 2 minutes of the auction, the closing time is automatically extended by 3 minutes. This gives all bidders a fair chance to respond to last-second bids and prevents "auction sniping." This extension can happen multiple times.

How the Online Auction Works

Welcome to the Pig Tails Farm Online Sale. All bidding now takes place directly on this website. Buyers are encouraged to review lots in advance and contact us with any questions prior to the sale. Text or call Nickie at 301-991-1702 Registered and approved bidders may place bids online and monitor activity in real time. Each lot will open at a starting bid of $350. Bidding will open March 5th at 9:00 AM and begin closing March 8th at 6:00 PM. The minimum bid increment is $25, and there is no maximum bid. This is a rolling close auction, meaning if a bid is placed within the final 10 minutes of a lot’s closing time, bidding for that lot will automatically extend by 10 minutes until no additional bids are received.

Communication & Notifications

During the online show pig sale, registered users will receive automated email notifications based on their profile preferences. Notifications may include outbid alerts, winning bid confirmations, and important auction updates. Users are responsible for keeping their contact information current within their profile. All bidding activity is recorded in real time on the website. If you are outbid, you may return to the lot page and increase your bid at any time prior to closing.
